Well, the season has only just begun and it has already proved thus far to be a good one. It all began about a month ago when Don and I started our scouting from afar. We found several areas with some really nice birds. Every day we would check the area out in the morning and evening either one of us or both of us. It did look promising. (Includes Video)

Fish & Boat Commission Releases Trout Cost Study

During the formal commission meeting on Tuesday, commissioners voted to add the Rabbitsfoot (Quadrula cylindrica cylindrical) and Snuffbox (Epioblasma triquetra) mussels to the Pennsylvania endangered species list and the Sheepnose mussel (Plethobasus cyphyus) to the state threatened species list. Commissioners voted to defer consideration of the Salamander mussel (Simpsonaias ambigua) and Rayed Bean mussel (Villosa fabalis).

Fish & Boat Commission To Host Lake Erie Update

HARRISBURG – Preliminary harvest data indicate wild turkey hunters had one fine season this past fall. In fact, according to the Pennsylvania Game Commission, it was one of the best in years.

Game Commission To Begin Accepting DMAP Landowner Applications

HARRISBURG – Landowners looking to enroll in the Pennsylvania Game Commission’s Deer Management Assistance Program (DMAP), which is designed to help landowners manage deer on their properties, have until July 1 to submit an application to the appropriate Game Commission Region Office.

Stocking Cancelled On Section 3 Of Turtle Creek In Allegheny And Westmoreland Counties

Harrisburg, PA — The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) has cancelled trout stocking for Turtle Creek in Allegheny and Westmoreland counties due to ongoing problems with pollution from a gasoline spill that occurred near Murrysville, Pa., in November 2008.
