The lead goose was now only a few feet off the ground, gliding steadily toward our spread. My heart thumped loudly in my ears as I anticipated the first shots of the season. Wings beat rapidly as the flock slowed its decent, and then I finally heard someone yell, “Take em!”

So far this archery season has been uneventful with few deer seen. I have been in areas with the some of the best buck sign I’ve ever hunted. I’ve seen some unbelievable rubs, and many scrapes have been popping up in some of my hunting areas within the last couple of weeks.

Harrisburg, PA–The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission announced today a new state record for golden rainbow trout caught, by Eli Borger of Palmerton, PA.
